A solution of 6.3 g of Z-Ser(tBu)-Asn-Leu-OMe in 600 ml of methanol is hydrogenated in the presence of 1.2 g of palladium carbon (10% Pd). After 11/4 hours the catalyst is suctioned off and the filtrate evaporated to dryness at 30° C. bath temperature under vacuum. The resulting crystalline tripeptide derivative reveals in the thin-layer chromatogram on silica gel plates in chloroform+methanol (90:10) an Rf value of 0.11.
