To a suspension of 5-oxo-4,5,6,7-tetrahydropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine (0.5 g) in tetrahydrofuran (10 ml) was added lithium aluminum hydride (0.277 g) at room temperature. The mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 30 minutes. To the mixture was added sodium fluoride (1.22 g), and then water (0.394 g) was added dropwise thereto under ice-cooling. The mixture was stirred at 0°-5° C. for 30 minutes and filtered. The filtrate was evaporated to give 4,5,6,7-tetrahydropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine (257 mg).
