Procedure

A mixture of 1.1 g (0.0035 mol) of 3-[(pyridin-3-yl)methyl]-7,8-dimethoxy-1,3-dihydro-2H-3-benzazepin-2-one and 2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-ethyl bromide is heated to 110° C. for 6 hours. After cooling, the reaction mixture is dissolved in a little methanol/ methylene chloride and added dropwize to 200 ml of diethylether, with vigorous stirring. The precipitate obtained is suction filtered and dried. Yield: 1.6 g (80% of theory), Melting point: 147°-150° C.
