Procedure

1-(3,4-Dichloro-benzyl)-3-(4-iodomethyl-thiazol-2-yl)-urea (Intermediate 6, 0.3 mmol) was taken up in tetrahydrofuran (5 ml) and 2-Amino-ethanol (20 eq.) was added. The reaction was stirred overnight at room temperature. Added a saturated solution of NaSO3 (40 ml). Extracted this with EtOAc twice. The combined organic extracts were dried over Na2SO4, filtered and solvent removed in vacuo to give the title compound a solid.
