Add 4M HCl in 1,4-dioxane (2 mL) to 4-[4-(4-chloro-phenyl)-1-(2-dimethylamino-ethyl)-1H-imidazol-2-yl]-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (0.8 g; 0.0018 mol; 1.0 equiv), in DCM and stir at RT for 6 h. Concentrate the reaction, crystallize from diethyl ether and filter to get the title compound (0.6 g; 74.07%). MS (ES+): m/z=333 (M+H)
