Potassium hydroxide (0.118 g, 2.10 mmol) is added to a solution of methyl 6-(4-((5-cyclopropyl-3-(2,6-dichlorophenyl)isoxazol-4-yl)methoxy)azepan-1-yl)benzo[d]isothiazole-3-carboxylate (0.30 g, 0.52 mmol) in ethanol (2 ml) and tetrahydrofuran (6 mL). The mixture is stirred at 60° C. for 24 h and concentrated in vacuo. The residue is dissolved in water (8 ml), acidified to pH˜5 with 1 N HCl and extracted with dichloromethane (2×10 ml). The organic extracts are dried over sodium sulfate and the solvent is evaporated in vacuo to give 0.15 g (51.0%) of the title compound as an off white solid. ES/MS m/z 558.06 (M+1).
