A mixture of [4-(5-nitropyridin-2-yl)piperazin-1-yl]-(2-trifluoromethylphenyl)-methanone (0.15 g, 0.4 mmol) and Pd—C (76 mg) in THF (5 mL) and MeOH (5 mL) was exposed to a hydrogen atmosphere at 25° C. for 2 h. The reaction mixture was filtered and the solution was concentrated in vacuo to provide the title compound as a dark purple solid (0.121 g, 86% yield). MS (ES+) m/z 351.0 (M+1).
