Psoromic acid (1 mmol) was dissolved in DMF (10 mL), KHCO3 (2.4 mmol) was added and stirred for several minutes at room temperature. Then, CH3I (1.2 mmol) was added. The reaction mixture was maintained at 40° C. and monitored by TLC. Upon completion, the reaction mixture was poured into 50 mL of water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was subsequently washed with saturated NaHCO3 solution and saturated brine, and dried over anhydrous MgSO4, filtered and evaporated by a rotatory evaporator. The residue was purified by column chromatography to provide a white solid product.
