The title compound was prepared according to Preparation 23 from benzylmethyl(tetrahydropyran-4-yl)amine (Preparation 87). Crude material was dissolved in methanol and a solution of 1M HCl in ether was added dropwise to form a precipitate. The product was filtered and washed with ether to give the title compound as the hydrochloride salt as a white crystalline solid. δH (CD3OD): 4.11-4.00 (2H, m), 3.53-3.43 (2H, m), 3.37-3.27 (1H, m), 2.74 (3H, s), 2.11-2.03 (2H, m), 1.74-1.60 (2H, m).
