Procedure
5-Bromo-3-(2-tert-butoxymethyl-phenyl)-4-chloro-1-(2-trimethylsilanyl-ethoxymethyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine (66 mg, 0.12 mmol) was dissolved in dichloromethane (1 mL) and trifluoroacetic acid (1 mL) and stirred at 23° C. for 15 h. The solvent was evaporated and the resulting oil was dissolved in methanol (1 mL) and ethylenediamine (0.2 mL) and stirred at 23° C. for 1 h. The mixture was concentrated to afford [2-(5-Bromo-4-chloro-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-3-yl)-phenyl]-methanol which was used in the next step without further purification.
