Reaction Steps
100 gms of cyclohexane carboxaldehyde was dissolved in 400 ml of industrial spirit (denatured ethanol) and a solution of sodium metabisulphite (95 gms) in water (150 ml) was added under stirring. The resulting precipitate was filtered and washed with industrial spirit and dried under vacuum at a temperature of about 50-60° C. to obtain 150 gms of the titled complex having 99.5% purity.
