Procedure
To a solution of 5-[3-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-5-methyl-isoxazol-4-ylmethoxy]-2H-pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid methyl ester (1.37 g, 4.1 mmol) in DMF (10 mL) at room temperature was added cesium carbonate (1.35 g, 4.1 mmol) and methyliodide (587 mg, 0.26 mL, 4.1 mmol) and the resulting mixture stirred for 30 min. The resulting mixture was then evaporated and extracted with ethyl acetate and water. The organic extract was then washed with water, brine, dried over sodium sulfate and evaporated. Purification by chromatography (silica, heptane:ethyl acetate=4:1 to 2:3) afforded the title compound (730 mg, 51%) which was obtained as a colorless oil. MS: m/e=346.1 [M+H]+.
