Procedure

To a solution of 5-[3-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-5-methyl-isoxazol-4-ylmethoxy]-2-methyl-2H-pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid methyl ester (250 mg, 0.72 mmol) in dioxane (3 mL) was added aqueous sodium hydroxide (2 M, 2.0 mL, 2.0 mmol). After heating at 90° C. for 1 h the solution was cooled to room temperature and neutralized with aqueous hydrogen chloride (2 N). The resulting mixture was then extracted with ethyl acetate and water. The organic extract was then washed with water, brine, dried over sodium sulfate and evaporated to afford the title compound (222 mg, 92%) which was obtained as a white solid. MS: m/e=330.1 [M−H]−.
