To a solution of methyl (6-methyl-2,5-dioxo-5,6-dihydro-4H-imidazo[1,5,4-de]quinoxalin-1(2H)-yl)acetate from Step A (225 mg, 0.817 mol) in MeOH (10 mL) was added 1.0 N sodium hydroxide (1.2 mL, 1.2 mmol). After 3 h, the reaction mixture was neutralized with 1 N aqueous HCl and concentrated to give the title compound. MS: m/z=262 (M+1).
