Reaction Steps
A mixture of 0.500 g 2,6-dibromo-4-methylsulfanyl-pyridine and 10 ml 25% aqueous ammonia was heated in an autoclave to 140° C. for 24 h. The solvent was evaporated and the residue was purified by chromatohraphy on silica gel with heptane:ethyl aceate=1:1 to yield 0.300 g of the title compound as white crystals.
