Reaction Steps
A suspension of EXAMPLE 20A (0.41 g) in THF (60 mL) and methanol (30 mL) at reflux was treated with 1M LiOH (100 mL), stirred for 3 hours then cooled, concentrated to half volume, acidified with 10% citric acid (90 mL), and filtered.
