Procedure
A solution of Example 62A (0.55 mmol) in trifluoroacetic acid (15 mL) was heated to 80° C. for 16 hours and concentrated. The concentrate was dissolved in dichloromethane, washed with water, and filtered; and the filtrate was concentrated to provide the desired product and a small amount of 6-fluoro-5-methyl-4-oxo-7-(azetidin-1-yl)-1,4-dihydro-1,8-naphthyridine-3-carboxylic acid 7-azetidin-1-yl compound. NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 8.4 (s, 1H), 8.15 (m, 1H), 4.5 (m, 2H), 3.55 (m, 2H), 2.7 (m, 3H), 2.1 (m, 2H).
