Procedure
A solution of Example 74A (343.42 mg) and 1,3-dibromo-5,5-dimethylhydantoin (171.5 mg) in dichloromethane (15 mL) was stirred for 15 minutes, treated with 10% sodium bisulfite, and extracted with dichloromethane (50 mL). The extract was washed with water and brine, dried (MgSO4), filtered, and concentrated; and the concentrate was crystallized from dichloromethane/diethyl ether.
