A mixture of (3R*,5S*)-3-tert-butoxycarbonylamino-5-[(2-chloro-benzyl)-cyclopropylcarbamoyl]-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid 9H-fluoren-9-ylmethyl ester (186 mg, 0.295 mmol) and HCl (5M in 2-propanol, 2 mL, 10 mmol) is stirred for 2 h at RT. The mixture is evaporated and the residue dried to afford the title compound as a beige amorphous solid. MS: 530.4 [M+H]+; tR (HPLC, Nucleosil C18; 5-100% CH3CN+0.1% TFA/H2O+0.1% TFA for 8 min, flow 1.5 ml/min): 6.02 min.
