1.00 g (3.08 mmol) of benzyl 2-propionyl-3-(3-chlorophenyl)acrylate (mixture of E:Z=1:1) and 475 mg (3.08 mmol) of 2-cyanoethyl 3-aminocrotonate were heated under reflux in 10 ml of 2-propanol at 80° C. for 2 days. 2-Propanol was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the residue was purified by the silica gel chromatography (dichloromethane/methanol=100/1) to obtain the title compound.
