Reaction of 3-methylamino-4-(2-mercaptoethyl)-1,2,5-thiadiazole 1,1-dioxide [prepared in Example 25, Step A] with about one equivalent of 2-dimethylaminomethyl-4-hydroxymethylthiazole [prepared in Example 34, Step D] in concentrated hydrochloric acid, and then made basic and worked up, produces the title compound which is identical to the product prepared in Example 33.
