Reaction Steps
A solution of 4.78 g (14.2 millimoles) of the 7-chloro-4-(2-chloroacetyl)-5-phenyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1,4-benzoxazepine produced in step (a) in 150 ml of CH2Cl2 was saturated with dimethylamine gas at 0°. The flask was stoppered and the solution was stored at -15° for 16 hours.
