29.4 g of 3-n-butylsulfamoyl-4-chlorobenzoic acid were boiled under reflux in 140 ml of thionyl chloride until complete dissolution and until HCl had finished to develop (about 2 hours), the thionyl chloride was distilled off under reduced pressure and the residue was crystallized under diisopropyl ether. Colorless crystals, melting point: 110° C.
