Procedure

The title product of Example 59 (2.5 g, 5.8 mmol) was combined with 25 mL of concentrated HCl and 25 mL of dioxane. The solution was brought to reflux and maintained at reflux and under N2 for 6 days. After cooling the reaction to room temperature, all solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue was dissolved in EtOAc. This solution was brought to pH 8 with 2N NaOH and the organic solution was dried, filtered, and stripped of all solvent under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by chromatography to give 1.0 g of the title compound.
