3-[3-(Pyrrolidinomethyl)phenoxy]propylamine (2.0 g) and 2-chlorobenzthiazole (1.45 g) were fused at 130° C. for 21/2 hours. The cooled reaction mixture was subjected to column chromatography on silica using chloroform and then chloroform:methanol (10:1) as eluants to give the title compound as a yellow oil. This was treated with maleic acid in ethanol to give 2-[3-[3-(pyrrolidinomethyl)phenoxy]propylamino]benzthiazole dimaleate (0.35 g), m.p. 91°-92° C. (recrystallised from isopropanol/ether).
