Reaction Steps
A solution of 4-fluoro-2-nitrobenzylbromide (50.1 g) and sodium sulfite (27.3 g) in water (200 ml) was heated under reflux for 2.5 hours and cooled to room temperature. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure and ethanol (100 ml) was added to the crude product.
