Procedure
A solution of 2-(o-methoxyphenoxy)methyl-thiazolidine (1.83 g) in pyridine (6 ml) is treated with methane sulphonyl chloride (1.2 g) at room temperature. After 4 hours the mixture is diluted with 2N H2SO4, extracted with Et2O, to afford after the usual work-up 2.2 g of 3-methanesulphonyl-2-(o-methoxyphenoxy)methyl-thiazolidine m.p. 118°-120° C.
Workup
- extractionextracted with Et2O
