Procedure

53.6 g (0.12 mol) of the pyridine salt of 1-acetyl-5-amino-N-(2,6-dichlorophenyl)-1,2,4-triazole-3-sulphonamide was dissolved in 200 ml 2N aqueous sodium hydroxide and stirred at room temperature for 10 minutes. With ice cooling it was brought to pH 5 with 2N hydrochloric acid. The crystals were separated, washed with a small amount of water and ether and dried in vacuo.
