A suspension of 2.0 g of 5-benzyloxy-3-[5-(2-bromoethoxy)-1-tert-butoxycarbonyl-1H-indol-2-yl]indazole-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester and of 498 mg of potassium iodide in 90 ml of acetonitrile is heated at 80° C. for 7 hours. 394 μl of morpholine, 150 mg of potassium iodide and 1.24 g of potassium carbonate are then added and the mixture is heated at 80° C. for 15 hours. The reaction mixture is cooled to ambient temperature and then filtered. The filtrate is evaporated under reduced pressure in a rotary evaporator to obtain 1.90 g of 5-benzyloxy-3-[1-tert-butoxycarbonyl-5-(2-morpholin-4-ylethoxy)-1H-indol-2-yl]indazole-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester.
