Using general procedure A with ((R)-3-{4-[4-(tert-butyl-dimethyl-silanyloxy)-phenylamino]-piperidin-1-yl}-butyl)-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (see EXAMPLE 233) (796 mg, 2.10 mmol) and 4-methyl-3-pyridinecarboxaldehyde (see EXAMPLE 356) (367 mg, 3.00 mmol) in ClCH2CH2Cl (6 mL) followed by general procedure C afforded [1-((R)-3-amino-1-methyl-propyl)-piperidin-4-yl]-[4-(tert-butyl-dimethyl-silanyloxy)-phenyl]-(4-methyl-pyridin-3-ylmethyl)-amine (130 mg, 17% over 2 steps) as a white foam.
