To a mixture of (3) (52 mg, 0.137 mmol) and Me3OBF4 (40 mg, 0.274 mmol) in methylene chloride (5 ml) was added Hunig's base (40 μl, 0.274 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at 50° C. for 2 hr, then diluted with 100 ml of methylene chloride. It was washed with H2O, saturated NaCl. The organic solution was dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified on silica gel eluting with (80% EtOAc/Hexane) to give the title compound, which was treated with 1 equivalent of etherate HCl to give HCl salt. MS (ES) m/z 394.1.
