Reaction Steps
2.9 g of (-)-2-[4-(3-hydroxy-1-butyl)phenyl]-5-(ethoxy)pyrimidine, 3.1 g of (-)-2-[4-(3-acetoxy-1-butyl)phenyl]-5-(ethoxy)pyrimidine, 8 g of sodium hydroxide and 60 ml of diethylene glycol were reacted in an analogous manner to Example 1(c) to give 4.2 g of (-)-2-[4-(3-hydroxy-1-butyl)phenyl]-5-hydroxypyrimidine.
