Procedure
A mixture of 4-[5-fluoro-3-(4-methoxytetrahydropyran-4-yl)phenylthio]benzophenone (0.22 g), hydroxylamine hydrochloride (0.042 g) and pyridine (4 ml) was stirred and heated to reflux for 3 hours. The mixture was cooled to ambient temperature and partitioned between diethyl ether and water. The organic phase was washed with brine. dried (MgSO4) and evaporated. There was thus obtained, as a mixture of (E)- and (Z)-isomers, 4-[5-fluoro-3-(4-methoxytetrahydropyran-4-yl)phenylthio]benzophenone oxime as a foam (0.12 g, 53%);
