16.6 Parts of N-cyclohexylhydroxylamine hydrochloride is added to 300 parts of benzene; 20.2 parts of triethylamine is then introduced into the mixture. After stirring the mixture for 1 hour at room temperature, 15.9 parts of 2,5-dimethylfuran-3-carboxylic chloride is dripped in. The mixture is then stirred for a further hour and the precipitate is suction filtered, washed with water and then with petroleum ether, and dried. There is obtained 18.2 parts of N-cyclohexyl-2,5-dimethylfuran- 3-hydroxamic acid; m.p.: 135° - 137° C. ##SPC7##
