Procedure

A portion (1.5 g) of the N-tert-butyl-3-(1,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropen-1-yl)-5-trimethylsilyl-2-thiophenesulfonamide prepared in (2) was reacted with 4 ml of trifluoroacetic acid under stirring at room temperature for 13 hours. After completion of the reaction, the resulting product was poured into water and extracted with methylene chloride. The extracted layer was washed with water and dried. After distilling off methylene chloride under vacuum, the residue was purified by column chromatography on silica gel (eluent: methylene chloride) to provide 0.93 g of 3-(1,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropen-1-yl)-5-trimethylsilyl-2-thiophenesulfonamide having a melting point of 129° to 140° C.
