Reaction Steps
About 1 mol of hydrated silicon acid, 0.25 mol of phenol and 1 mol of silicon tetrachloride are slowly added simultaneously while agitating at ambient temperature for 1 to 2 hours; the reaction is complete in 2 to 8 hours, thereby producing a phenol chlorosilicon acid resinous product. To this resinous product, about 0.25 to 6 mols of an organic diene, isoprene, are added while agitating at a temperature between the liquid state and the boiling temperature of the diene for 1 to 2 hours; the reaction is complete in 2 to 8 hours, thereby producing a vinyl phenol silicon acid resinous product.
