Procedure
About 1 mol of fine granular hydrated silica, 0.25 mol of resorcinol and 1 mol of silicon tetrachloride are slowly added simultaneously while agitating and keeping the temperature below the boiling temperature of the mixture for 1 to 2 hours; the reaction is complete in 2 to 8 hours, thereby producing a phenol chlorosilicon resinous product. To this resinous product, 2 mols of butadiene, 1 mol of styrene and 1 mol allyl chloride are added while agitating at a temperature wherein the reactants are in a liquid state to just below the boiling temperature of the mixture for 1 to 2 hours; the reaction is complete in 2 to 8 hours, thereby producing an allyl halide-diene-vinylphenol silicon acid resinous product.
