In 80 ml of acetic acid was dissolved 4 g of 6-amidino-2-naphthyl 5-[4-(2-t-butoxycarbonylvinyl)benzoylaminomethyl]furan-2-carboxylate hydrochloride. Then, hydrogen chloride gas was bubbled into the resulting solution for 1 hour while stirring and cooling with water. The precipitate was collected by filtration and washed with 120 ml of acetone to obtain 2.8 g of the intended product.
