489 mg (1.02 mmol) of the above 5-(4-chlorobutylamino)-6,8-difluoro-2-(3-fluoro-4-pivaloylaminophenyl)-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one was dissolved in 20 mL of dimethylformamide under argon atmosphere, 332 mg (5.10 mmol) of sodium azide was added and the mixture was stirred at 70° C. for 10 hours. Water was added to the reaction solution and the precipitated crystals were collected by filtration to give 332 mg of 5-(4-azidobutylamino)-6,8-difluoro-2-(3-fluoro-4-pivaloylaminophenyl)-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one (yield: 67%).
