To a solution of 5-ethyl-2-imino-3-[[2'-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4-yl]methyl]-1,3,4-thiadiazoline hydrochloride (200 mg) in N,N-dimethylformamide (3 ml) was added 1-cyclopentene-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride (100 mg), and they were stirred at room temperature for 3 days. To the reaction mixture was added water (20 ml), and powders so precipitated were collected by filtration. The powders were washed successively with water, ethanol and diethyl ether and then dried, whereby 160 mg of the title compound was obtained.
