Procedure
1.0 g of N-[2-(3,4-methylenedioxybenzylamine)ethyl]-5-isoquinolinesulfonamide (3) obtained in Example 1 was dissolved in 10 ml of methanol. To the solution was added an equal amount of aqueous hydrochloric acid, and the mixture was stirred for 10 minutes. Then, the solvent was removed by distillation under reduced pressure to obtain a residue. The thus obtained residue was subjected to recrystallization from a mixture of methanol and ether to obtain 0.86 g of N-[2-(3,4-methylenedioxybenzylamino)ethyl]-5-isoquinolinesulfonamide hydrochloride (yield: 79%). Elementary analysis (%) of hydrochloride of compound (3)
