Procedure
Ethyl 7-[cis-3-amino-4-(1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)pyrrolidin-1-yl]-1-cyclopropyl-6-fluoro-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-1,8-naphthyridine-3-carboxylate (200 mg, 0.47 mmol) was heated with 8 ml of 6N hydrochloric acid at 110° C. for 18 hr. The solution was then evaporated to dryness and the residue was crystallized from methanol-ether to yield 160 mg (85%) of the desired hydrochloride, m.p. 240° C. (dec). 1H NMR (TFA) δ: 9.27 (s, 1H), 9.01 (s, 1H), 8.66 (s, 1H), 8.3 (d, 11.6Hz, 1H), 6.64-6.45 (m, 1H), 5.35-4.66 (m, 5H), 4.20-4.02 (m, 1H), 1.7-1.2 (m, 4H). Anal. calcd. for C18H19ClFN7O3. 1.5 H2O: C, 46.76; H, 4.80; N, 21.2; Cl, 7.67. Found: C, 46.85; H, 4.31; N, 20.62; C1, 8.36.
