Reaction Steps
To 4-(4-acetylphenyl)-1,2,4-triazolidine-3,5-dione (115 mg, 0.999 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (3.5 mL) was added SiO2-HNO3 (300 mg). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 15 minutes, filtered, concentrated in vacuo and dried to give 4-(4-acetylphenyl)-3H-1,2,4-triazole-3,5(4H)-dione as a red solid (78 mg, 74%).
