To 4-(2,3-bis(prop-2-ynyloxy)propyl)-1,2,4-triazolidine-3,5-dione (I-13d: 50 mg, 0.199 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (1.99 mL) was added SiO2-HNO3 (150 mg). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 15 minutes, then filtered, concentrated in vacuo and dried giving 4-(2,3-bis(prop-2-ynyloxy)propyl)-3H-1,2,4-triazole-3,5(4H)-dione (I-13e: 50 mg, quantitative) as a red oil.
