Procedure
A solution of trans-2-phenylcyclopropanecarbaldehyde rac-I-6B (0.89 g, 6.1 mmol) in EtOH (12 mL) and cooled to 0°C. was treated with hydroxylamine hydrochloride (0.43 g, 6.1 mmol) and Na2CO3. The reaction mixture was allowed to warm to rt and stir fo(12 h. The volatiles were removed in vacuo and extracted with EtOAc. The organics were collected, dried over Na2SO4 filtered, and concentrated to afford trans-2-Phenylcyclopropanecarbaldehyde oxime which was used without further purification.
