Procedure
1-(2-Chloro-5-ethylpyridin-3-yl)-5-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (0.639 g) and 4N aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (5 ml) were added to a mixed solvent of ethanol (10 ml) and water (5 ml) and stirred at room temperature for an hour. The reaction solution was cooled to 0° C., 1N hydrochloric acid aqueous solution (30 ml) was added dropwise and the precipitated solid was filtered to give the titled compound (0.488 g).
