Procedure
Water (7 ml) and 4N aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (7 ml) were added at room temperature to a solution of 1-(5-bromo-3-chloropyridin-2-yl)-5-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (1.00 mg) in ethanol (14 ml) and stirred at 80° C. for five hours. After completion of the reaction, the reaction solution was cooled to 0° C. and 1N hydrochloric acid aqueous solution (29 ml) was added. The precipitated solid was collected by filtration to give the titled compound (723 mg) as a light brown solid.
