Procedure
Water (4 ml) and 4N aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (4 ml) were added at room temperature to a solution of 1-(3-chloro-5-ethylpyridin-2-yl)-5-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (454 mg), and stirred at room temperature for 15 hours. After completion of the reaction, the reaction solution was cooled to 0° C. and 1N hydrochloric acid aqueous solution was added. The precipitated solid was collected by filtration to give the titled compound (314 mg) as a white solid.
