Reaction Steps
To a solution of 4-(trifluoromethyl)benzonitrile (10 g) in ethanol (100 ml) was added 50% hydroxylamine aqueous solution (11.6 g), and stirred at 80° C. overnight. After completion of the reaction, the solvent was evaporated, and water was added thereto. The insoluble matter was collected by filtration, and then dried to give N-hydroxy-4-(trifluoromethyl)benzamidine (12.6 g).
