Procedure
Trifluoroacetic acid (4.0 ml) was added at room temperature to a solution of 4-[3-ethyl-5-({5-methyl-1-[5-(trifluoromethyl)pyridin-2-yl]-1H-pyrazole-4-carbonyl}amino)pyridin-2-yl]azepan-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (1.1 g) described in Example D291 in dichloromethane (20 ml), and stirred at the same temperature for 4 hours. After completion of the reaction, 4N aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide was added to adjust the solution to pH 11 and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated to give N-[6-(azepan-4-yl)-5-methylpyridin-3-yl]-5-methyl-1-[5-(trifluoromethyl)pyridin-2-yl]-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxamide as a pale yellow oil.
